Invitation To Attend
From the Convenor
Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, I have great pleasure in inviting you and your partner to Perth to attend our 58th National Scientific Meeting. The Meeting takes place from Tuesday, April 8th until Friday April 11th at the Sheraton Hotel Perth.
Perth is a great place to visit any time but especially in autumn. The days are warm and the evenings are balmy and ideal for exploring Perth’s restaurants in the City, in Fremantle, and by the Swan River. Perth revels in its location along a lake like stretch of the meandering Swan River, overlooked by the 1,000-acre Kings Park, whose lush gardens provide a popular setting for picnics and games of many sorts in a city that loves living outdoors.
The theme of “New Discoveries’ is reflected in the program. The structure of the academic program is new, with topical instruction courses and mini-seminars on contemporary topics. The live video conference with Stanford University will allow delegates to discover the ideas of a large international faculty from a world renowned Otolaryngology Department.
Our keynote speakers are:
- Dr Gary C. Burget, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Chicago
- Dr Roy R. Casiano, Rhinologist, Miami
- Dr Mark D. DeLacure, Head and Neck and Reconstruction Surgeon, New York
- Professor Jens Thomsen, Otologist, Copenhagen
The workshops have been selected to reflect practical but new discoveries in Otolaryngology. You will discover new methods for the diagnosis and management of salivary disorders, ear and temporal bone diseases and facial plastic surgery. The conveners of these courses have included local and international faculty and the venue is CTEC, one of the most sophisticated dissection course laboratory in the world.
We will welcome you to Perth at a Cocktail party being held at the Sheraton Hotel on the Tuesday evening. The Conference Dinner will take place at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on the Thursday evening. Guests will be entertained, wined and dined with the best that Western Australia has to offer.
Our PCO, EECW Pty Ltd, has planned a full Associates program. This program will commence with a golf competition, organized for Tuesday 8 April at Burswood Park Golf Course.
We warmly invite you and your partner to join us in Perth for our 58th annual ASOHNS meeting.
