Dr Gary C. Burget

Dr Gary C.  Burget

Dr. Gary Burget is a practicing plastic surgeon in Chicago.  His plastic surgical training was with Ralph Millard at the University of Miami.

Over the past 30 years Dr. Burget has created and developed artistic concepts for aesthetic reconstruction of the nose and the central face.  These were expressed in his book, Aesthetic Reconstruction of the Nose, written with Frederick Menick.  Most recently Dr. Burget and Dr. Robert Walton have created principles and an algorithm for reconstruction of the face with free microvascular flaps.  Dr. Burget's current interest is reconstruction of childrens' noses.

Dr. Burget is Associate Clinical Professor in the Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of The University of Chicago. In 2006 he was named Clinician of the Year by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr Roy R Casiano is currently Professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology, at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. He is also Chief of the General Otolaryngology Division and co-director of the Vocal Disorders Laboratory.  Dr Casiano is an accomplished clinical researcher in the Otolaryngologic subspecialties of Rhinology and Laryngology. He has authored well over 100 publications in the areas of Rhinosinusitis, endoscopic surgical techniques for chronic Rhinosinusitis and Paranasal sinus/skull base neoplasms, and vocal disorders. He is also an active member, and has served on numerous national committees, of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and American Rhinological Society, and is currently the Secretary General of the Pan-American Association of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.  Dr Casiano is on the editorial board or is an editorial reviewer for 5 peer reviewed journals in Otolaryngology. He has been an invited lecturer to numerous national and international conferences since 1988.

Dr Casiano is an outstanding young Rhinologist who impressed your committee with his presentations at the IRS conference in Sydney.

Dr Mark D. DelaCure

Dr Mark D. DelaCure

Mark D. DeLacure, MD, FACS is a native Floridian who left the South after completing his medical training at the university of Florida where he majored in Biochemistry and Pharmacology and received the Doctor of Medicine, both magna cum laude. He then crossed the country several times to obtain the very best training possible (in both Head and Neck Surgery and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery) - travelling from Gainesville to Stanford (General Surgery), Yale (Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery), New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre (Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology), and then finishing at uCLA (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery).

He joined the prestigious Roswell Park Cancer Institute where he rose to the role of Chairman of the Divisions of Head and Neck Surgery and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and ran their Joint Council accredited postgraduate Fellowship training program in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology. In 1999 he returned to New York as Chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at the New York university School of Medicine, where he presently practises in a full-time academic environment and is dually-appointed in Otolaryngology and the world-reknowned Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.

Professor Jens Thomsen

Professor Jens Thomsen

Professor Thomsen is a Professor of Otolaryngology at Gentofte Hospital University of Copenhagen. He is a member of scientific societies, editorial boards, an organiser of international congresses and courses, member of the executive board of European Skull Base Society and IFOS.

Professor Thomsen has an outstanding reputation for his analysis of controversies in Meniere's disease and Acoustic Neuroma, and is the author of 350 scientific papers, mainly focused on Vestibular schwannomas, Meniere's disease and Otitis media.
